Ndejje Bridge League Final
Ndejje University, Uganda – The final round of the Ndejje MAVERICKS Bridge League took place on 11th October 2024, delivering an electric and competitive atmosphere at Ndejje University. Since its inception in August, the league has featured 18 pairs competing over three months, navigating 60 challenging boards and ranked using the match points system.
The climax of the league saw the top six pairs battling fiercely for the coveted gold, silver, and bronze medals. Leading up to the final round, Joseph Genza and Andrew Sebuufu had set a high bar, maintaining their lead with outstanding performance. The final saw them solidify their dominance, winning the gold medal with an impressive 266 match points over 70 boards played.
In a closely contested fight for the silver medal, Moni Justine and Mirembe Rebecca showcased remarkable skill, earning 246 match points to secure their spot on the podium. Not far behind, Allen Namugambwa and Okulei Joash demonstrated their prowess, clinching the bronze medal with 219 match points, narrowly edging out Alex Lubandi and Rebecca Asiimwe who finished fourth with 217 match points.
The event was a resounding success, highlighting the growing enthusiasm and competitiveness within the bridge community in Uganda. As the exciting Ndejje MAVERICKS League concluded, players and fans alike are already looking forward to its return in January 2025.
